This seminar aims to provide healthcare professionals who are allowed to performed debridement procedures in accordance to their practice act. This will serve as a catalyst to every practitioner who wanted to start his or her wound care career but is unsure on how and where to begin. The course is highly interactive and live hands-on practicum on debridement and edema management via compression therapies. Participants will learn wound care assessment skills by doing and understand wound care practice to the next level.
The Participant will be able to:
PT, PTA¹s, RN, LPN¹s, OT, OTA¹s
7:30 AM – 8:00 AM Registration
8:00 AM – 9:30 AM Wound bed prep, types of debridement, selective vs. non-selective, candidates for debridement
9:30 AM – 12:00 PM Hands-on lab on debridement using a pigskin sample
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Lunch on your own
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Compression therapy, edema control, and taping
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM Hands-on lab on bandaging, ABI measurement, and edema/lymphedema kinesiotaping
Dress comfortably as we are going to practice bandaging or wrapping lower extremities. We will be discussing and practicing each evaluation and treatment technique.
