M.A.N. Up (Martial Arts against Neurologic Diseases) is an evidence-based exercise program that uses principles of Filipino Escrima/Kali. Tae Kwon Do and Israeli Krav Maga as Rehabilitation strategies geared towards addressing deficiencies in functional mobility, balance, coordination, strength, endurance and proprioception thus improving the performance of patients’ Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).

7:30-8:00 AM – Registration
8:00-9:00 AM – Introduction to M.A.N. Up Concept, brief review of Neurologic diseases.
9:00 -10:00 AM – Discuss Evaluation and Reassessment using principles of M.A.N. Up.
10-10:15 AM – Break
10:15-12:00 NN – LAB SESSION; practicing functional tests
12:00 – 1:00 PM – LUNCH. On your own.
1:00- 5:00 PM – Lab session. Demonstrate and discuss different Tae kwon Do, Krav Maga and Escrima techniques as they pertain to patient rehabilitation. PUTTING THINGS TOGETHER – experience first hand a M.A.N. Up work out.
Dress appropriately for work out. Wear gym-appropriate clothes. Those who have MMA gloves or protective gear, Tae Kwon Do gear, or boxing gloves may bring them. If we have more attendees, lab session will be moved to a Tae Kwon Do gym.
